Risk for PAD increases with age. At risk are people over 50 with a cardiovascular risk factor and everybody over 65 years old.

Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) test is a simple, quick and painless test that compares your blood pressure measured at the ankle with the blood pressure measured at the arm.

ABI test can be done by your physician or by a healthcare provider with ABI measurements.

Further vascular examination is necessary to identify the disease.
1.41 - 1.00
The disease is not present.
0.99 - 0.91
The disease is not present, however we recommend you keep an eye on possible changes regarding your legs.
0.90 - 0.51
The disease is detected
0.50 or less
The disease is detected, the condition can be critical.
